Windhaven® Insurance Appoints Distinguished Actuary to Senior Leadership Team

MIAMI, May 10, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Windhaven® Insurance, a Miami-based personal lines insurance carrier, has expanded its senior leadership team and named James "Jim" Murphy as Chief Actuary and Vice President of Product, Ben J. Turner, President of Windhaven® Insurance CEO, announced today.

Murphy has a distinguished career as an actuary that spans more than two decades including his most recent role as Chief Actuary and Vice President – Enterprise Analytics -- at Texas Windstorm Association and Texas FAIR Plan Association, where he performed traditional actuarial functions and oversaw product development. He has also served as a Senior Actuarial Analyst at Republic Underwriters Insurance Company and in a related role with United Services Automobile Association.

A graduate of the University of Texas at Austin where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics, Murphy is a Fellow of the Casual Actuarial Society and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries.
