ARLINGTON, Va., June 7 -- Willis Towers Watson, an advisory, broking and solutions company, issued the following news release:

Willis Towers Watson (NASDAQ: WLTW), a leading global advisory, broking and solutions company, today announced the appointment of Alice Underwood as the global head of its Risk Consulting and Software (RCS) business.

Based in New York, Underwood joins the RCS team from Willis Re, Willis Towers Watson's reinsurance business, where she led the North America analytics team and was a member of the Willis Re global leadership team.

Before joining Willis Towers Watson in 2006, Underwood led a team of actuaries and catastrophe modelers at Guy Carpenter. Prior to that, she led the specialty lines pricing team for Converium Re's North America operations and served as a lead actuary for Zurich Financial Services in both North America and Switzerland. Underwood holds a B.S. with the highest honors in mathematics from The University of Texas and a Ph.D. in mathematics from Princeton University.

"Willis Towers Watson has so much to offer clients to help them manage their risk and capital, especially in these times of accelerating and disruptive change in the insurance industry," said Underwood. "We are in a unique position to bring RCS expertise and solutions to clients, and I am continually impressed by our consultants' insights, depth of expertise and dedication to client service."

"I am delighted to have Alice on board as the global head of our RCS business," said Carl Hess, head of Investment Risk and Reinsurance, Willis Towers Watson. "Alice brings with her a wealth of experience that will benefit our clients as we strengthen our position as the leading consultancy and technology solution provider for the insurance industry.

Underwood will continue to lead the Willis Re North America analytics team until a successor is appointed.
