Willis Towers Watson Appoints Roger Steel, Two Other Key Hires to Lead Hong Kong Businesses

Targeted News Service (Press Releases)

HONG KONG, Feb. 23 -- Towers Watson, an advisory, broking and solutions company, issued the following news release:

Willis Towers Watson (NASDAQ: WLTW), the leading global advisory, broking and solutions company, today announced the appointment of Roger Steel as Managing Director for Hong Kong and Macau, along with two other key hires for its Hong Kong business.

Roger Steel's appointment took effect on 12 February 2018. He is based in Hong Kong.

"Roger brings a wealth of expertise across business strategy and partnerships to the 400-plus colleagues he oversees. His track record and experience in consulting, life insurance and pensions will be invaluable to our team regionally," said Scott Burnett, Head of Asia at Willis Towers Watson. "In the coming months, Roger will focus on leveraging resources to deepen our client understanding and relationships across Greater China, the key growth engine in Asia Pacific."

Before joining Willis Towers Watson, Roger held various key leadership positions, including CEO for Sun Life Hong Kong. He has more than 35 years of experience across insurance and consulting, and having worked in Hong Kong for 19 years, he has a strong knowledge of the local market as well.

In addition to Roger's appointment, Willis Towers Watson announced two other key hires for their Corporate Risk & Broking and Talent & Rewards businesses.

Ted Hodgkinson is Willis Towers Watson's new Head of Corporate Risk & Broking for Hong Kong and Macau. Based in Hong Kong, he started in mid-December 2017. He brings to the role more than 20 years of experience working in the region, of which 15 years were in senior leadership roles in Hong Kong and regionally.

Noel Goh joined Willis Towers Watson in early December 2017 as Head of Talent & Rewards for Hong Kong. Noel is based in Hong Kong and has worked as a strategic adviser to senior leaders in the private and government sectors across Asia Pacific and previously held a regional leadership role with Aon Hewitt. He has extensive experience in the talent management, culture shaping, and leadership development and assessment arenas.

Scott Burnett added: "These senior appointments reflect Willis Towers Watson's strategy to bring our different business lines closer together in order to deliver strong benefits to our Hong Kong clients. We're building on the strength and capabilities of our team to provide innovative and transformative support that will help businesses navigate through the complexity of people and risk management."

The three new senior appointees join a team of more than 400 risk and people consulting specialists across Hong Kong and Macau, and 40,000 colleagues worldwide, helping businesses measure and manage risk and capital, improve business performance and create sustainable competitive advantage.
