Weekend fire displaces Moorefield Twp. family of eight

Green said the fire began after she went to the store to get gifts for
"We were gone maybe 35 minutes and on my way home I get a phone call from my neighbors and the fire department saying my house was on fire," Green said. "...I'm just so devastated. I have six kids and my kids, we just don't have anywhere to go."
Foreman said the fire marshal's office was at the scene Monday morning, but has not yet determined what caused the blaze. He added that the fire is not suspicious.
Green said it appears the fire started in the kitchen behind the dishwasher.
The family was told they were lucky no one was home at the time of the fire, she said.
"They said that it just happened so fast that if we had been in the house we would have been gone or seriously, seriously injured," Green said.
Green said she and her fiance did not have insurance on the home that she owned because money was tight. She added that the family had planned to get insurance on the house when they received their next paycheck.
