Virginia Super Lawyers 2018 Recognizes Five Attorneys From Eckert Seamans’ Richmond Office

Targeted News Service (Press Releases)

WASHINGTON, April 17 -- Eckert Seamans, a law firm, issued the following news release:

Eckert Seamans is very pleased to announce that five attorneys from the firm's Richmond office were selected for inclusion in the 2018 edition of Virginia Super Lawyers: members (partners) David W. Clarke, Karen S. Elliott, Thomas A. Lisk, Eric M. Page, and Anthony F. Troy.

David W. Clarke, recognized by Super Lawyers for his administrative law practice for the 13th consecutive year, successfully blends general counsel representation of a variety of business interests with a regulatory and administrative law and government relations practice including handling matters before the Virginia State Corporation Commission and various other state regulatory bodies and agencies.

Karen S. Elliott, recognized for the seventh consecutive year by Super Lawyers for her employment and labor law work, focuses her practice on labor and employment law and commercial litigation matters. She strives to provide practical legal advice to help employers craft reasonable business solutions for their human resource challenges. Her clients span all sizes, from start-ups to the Fortune 500, in industries ranging from nursing homes, physician practices, and health and rehab centers to construction, travel and entertainment, fast food, and retail.

Thomas A. Lisk, recognized for the 13th consecutive year by Super Lawyers for his administrative law work, focuses his practice on regulatory matters before agencies, boards and commissions of the Commonwealth of Virginia including the State Corporation Commission. In addition, he is a registered lobbyist in Virginia, providing legislative representation of business interests and trade associations before the Virginia General Assembly since 1980.

Eric M. Page, recognized by Super Lawyers for the 11th time for his utilities practice, represents regulated and non-regulated utilities such as telecommunications carriers, natural gas distribution and pipeline companies, and water and sewer companies. He handles a wide range of regulatory and administrative matters for insurance companies, producers, and agencies in licensing, enforcement, and registration proceedings. He also represents securities dealers and brokers, financial institutions and other clients in administrative proceedings before regulatory commissions.

Anthony F. Troy, recognized by Super Lawyers for his business litigation practice for the 13th consecutive year, focuses his practice on multistate regulatory work, consumer protection, civil litigation, white collar defense, and administrative law matters. As a former attorney general of Virginia (1977-1978), Tony is well-versed in attorney general matters and has developed a practice surrounding client issues with state attorney general offices. His practice also includes commercial advertising, tobacco, antitrust, First Amendment litigation, election law litigation, and other commercial litigation.

The Eckert Seamans group joins the top five percent of lawyers in Virginia in receiving this honor from peers and others in the legal industry. The basis for selection includes noteworthy verdicts or settlements; creativity or innovation within the legal process; the number of cases tried or transactions handled; years in practice; position within the firm; professional activities; writings and lectures; community involvement; professional degrees or training; and academic and employment background. The full results of the survey will be published in a supplement to Richmond magazine as well as the annual Thomson Reuters Legal publication, Virginia & West Virginia Super Lawyers Magazine.
