(NYSE: UVE) announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Universal Property & Casualty Insurance Company (Universal Property), has written its first homeowners policy in Illinois. This marks the 18th state where consumers can purchase a Universal Property policy through independent agents or directly through the Universal Property online distribution channel Universal DirectSM.
