UnifiHealth Secures $5.4MM to Propel Availability of Modern Health Plan for Small Businesses

Today, UnifiHealth, the modern health plan for small businesses, is announcing it has raised $5.4MM in Seed Financing, led by Anthemis with participation from Echelon Capital, Flare Capital, Digitalis Ventures and Great Oaks VC. The funding will be used to support UnifiHealth's mission of transforming health plans for small businesses by making health coverage transparent and improving the quality and cost of care.

For many of the country's more than 31 million small businesses, the complexities and cost of health insurance have become prohibitive to small businesses' ability to offer the coverage their employees deserve. In fact, the share of employers offering comprehensive health benefits dropped from almost half to less than one-third over the past 20 years, according to a study by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. UnifiHealth, which can lower company healthcare costs by 20 percent, helps small businesses provide the highest quality healthcare options for their employees by allowing them to choose their preferred method of primary care, select their provider or facility of choice and identify the highest quality providers at the best cost.
