Business Wire

This meeting focuses on advancing quality in oncology care in the evolving value-based care landscape

CRANBURY, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- The American Journal of Managed Care (AJMC), the leading peer-reviewed journal dedicated to issues in managed care, with its Institute for Value-Based Medicine will host a regional VB-Onc™ meeting on advancing quality in oncology care in the evolving value-based care landscape. The meeting will take place Thursday, March 7, from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at the Four Seasons Resort and Club Dallas at Las Colinas in Irving, Texas.

“This live educational meeting is a wonderful opportunity for healthcare professionals to engage and interact with some of the top leading experts in oncology-focused value-based care,” said Gil Hernandez, director of sales of managed markets at MJH Associates, parent company of AJMC. “We look forward to educating attendees on the evolving value-based care transformations impacting the oncology landscape today.”

This meeting will feature four presenters: Ray D. Page, D.O., Ph.D., FACOI, president and director of research at The Center For Cancer and Blood Disorders, as the chairman and moderator; John V. Cox, D.O., MBA, FACP, FASCO, medical director of oncology services at Parkland Health and Hospital System, UT Southwestern Medical Center; Kashyap Patel M.D., vice president of the Community Oncology Alliance and president of Carolina Blood and Cancer Care; Barry Russo, chief executive officer of The Center For Cancer and Blood Disorders; and Lance Spivey, co-founder and president of StratiFi Health. The presenters will provide attendees with the latest insights and case studies on how to implement value-based payment models in their oncology practices; educate on best practices in care management, pharmacy management and practice transformation in our new health care landscape; and provide practical guidance on use of clinical pathways, patient management and data reporting under new quality requirements.

The Institute for Value-Based Medicine offers informative regional series, such as VB-Onc, that focus on multi-stakeholder perspectives from oncologists, payers and practice executives. With a goal to discuss pressing topics, such as the implications of value-based medicine on clinical practice, best practices in implementing the Oncology Care Model and the integration of oncology clinical and financial-management perspectives with evolving value-based medicine, the program features leading experts from the field of managed care to enhance audience knowledge.
