Sun Life Launches Nation’s Largest PPO Dental Network
WELLESLEY, Mass. – Sun Life is launching the new Sun Life Dental NetworkSM, marking another milestone in the integration of Sun Life and Assurant Employee Benefits (AEB). According to September 2017 data from Netminder, the new network is the largest in the U.S., with approximately 125,000 unique providers. The Sun Life Dental Network enables employers to provide competitive coverage with a widespread national PPO (Preferred Provider Organization) that allows their employees to locate participating dentists with ease.
“We know the right dentist is just as important as the size of the network,” said Stacia Almquist, vice president, Dental & Vision, for Sun Life Financial, U.S. “Our focus continues to be on providing the in-network access that dental plan members most want, which means the one dentist they care about—we call this the Network of One. This helps ensure that members get the most out of their dental benefits and can pay lower out-of-pocket costs by seeing an in-network provider.”
Sun Life’s dedicated network managers focus on network optimization by personally recruiting dentists that employees see today. A large, widespread network creates more opportunities to see an in-network provider.
Sun Life offers a wide range of dental plan designs, for both fully insured and self-insured employers. The Sun Life Dental Network is available starting October 30 in most states nationwide.
Sun Life will gradually convert Clients using the Assurant® Dental Network to the new Sun Life Dental Network. Sun Life completed its acquisition of AEB on March 1, 2016. Assurant Employee Benefits is the brand name for policies issued by Union Security Insurance Company and Union Security Life Insurance Company of New York.
