Some Texans living in FEMA trailers may be able to buy them
Victoria Advocate (TX)
Nov. 30--Some Texans living in recreational vehicles and manufactured homes provided by the Federal Emergency Management Agency will have the chance to buy them, according to a FEMA news release.
Only people currently living in the units who lack other permanent housing, at no fault of their own, are eligible to purchase them, according to the news release. They also must agree to insure the units and be in compliance with the agreements they signed with the government when they first moved in.
Everyone eligible for the program will receive a letter from the government. The sales prices will be based on a formula that factors in the type of the home, the number of bedrooms and the number of months the applicant lived in the unit.
Applicants with questions can call 855-336-2003 or fax 512-490-1248.
Marina reports on local government for the Victoria Advocate. She may be reached at [email protected] or 361-580-6511.
