Visitation will be 6 to 7 p.m. Friday at St. John's Catholic Church with a rosary at 7. The family will be present at St. John's for the visitation and the rosary. Theresa Catherine O'Hare, daughter of Patricia and William O'Hare, was born Feb. 19, 1940, in Palmer. Theresa attended Palmer Public Schools and graduated with the Class of 1957. Following graduation, she attended the Lincoln School of Business. In Lincoln, Theresa met Joseph C. Sis Sr. at a Catholic singles group, and they were married April 30, 1960. To this union, they were blessed with four children: Jeff, Dan, Patricia and Joseph Jr. Theresa worked at First Trust Savings & Loan, State Auto Insurance Agency, Pegler Foods, and Allied Insurance, before working first as a secretary in the nursing department and then for the physics department at the University of Nebraska. Her 15-year tenure at the university ended when Theresa retired in 2014. Theresa was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her children and grandchildren were the center of her life. For many years, Theresa and her husband Joe welcomed foreign exchange students from the countries of Costa Rica, France, Japan and Spain into their home, and they became her "extended" family. She was a faithful member of the Catholic Church and the Catholic Daughters of America. Theresa is survived by her children, Jeff (Lori) of Denison, Iowa, Dan (Jenny) of Lincoln, Patricia "Tricia" Liedle (Rick) of Lincoln, and Joseph "Joe" Jr. (Andrea) of Medford, Ore. Nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren complete her family circle. She is also survived by other loving in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and a multitude of friends. Her husband, Joe; parents, William and Patricia O'Hare; along with her brothers "Billy" William, Bernard, Gerald, Joe and Pat; and sister Mary O'Hare preceded her in death. The family appreciates the many thoughts and prayers, and while we are deeply saddened by our loss, we are thankful she was surrounded by the love of her family and numerous friends. We are filled with joy to know she is now in the presence of her loving Heavenly Father and no longer suffers from Parkinson's disease along with other illnesses (not COVID) contributing to her death. Theresa was an organ donor, and her organs were donated through the Live On Nebraska organization. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be directed to the Sis family. Butherus, Maser & Love Funeral Home will be handling the arrangements. Online condolences can be left at www.bmlfh.com
