Sen. Smith Introduces Bill to Amend Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974

WASHINGTON, May 25 -- Sen. Tina Smith, D-Minn., has introduced legislation (S. 1762) to amend the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 "to permit retirement plans to consider certain factors in investment decisions."

The bill was introduced on May 20 and was co-sponsored by Sens. Patty Murray, D-Wash., and Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn. It was referred to the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee.
