WASHINGTON, Nov. 29 -- The office of Sen. Bill Cassidy, R-Louisiana, issued the following statement regarding his efforts to keep the National Flood Insurance Program from expiring on Nov. 30:
"As much as possible, we must prevent the National Flood Insurance Program from lapsing. Then set the stage for long-term reforms.

"We must create a more accountable, affordable and sustainable system that is good for Louisiana and good for taxpayers."
