Reports from Federal Reserve Bank Provide New Insights into COVID-19 (Risk Preferences At the Time of Covid-19: an Experiment With Professional Traders and Students): Coronavirus – COVID-19

NewsRx COVID-19 Daily

2026 JUL 14 (NewsRx) -- By a News Reporter-Staff News Editor at NewsRx COVID-19 Daily -- Investigators publish new report on Coronavirus - COVID-19. According to news reporting originating from New York City, New York, by NewsRx correspondents, research stated, “We study whether the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted risk preferences, comparing the results of experiments conducted before and during the outbreak.”

Financial support for this research came from UCL, UK.

Our news editors obtained a quote from the research from Federal Reserve Bank, “In each experiment, we elicit risk preferences from two sample groups: professional traders and undergraduate students. We find that, on average, risk preferences have remained constant for both pools of participants.”

According to the news editors, the research concluded: “The findings of our paper support the traditional view that risk preferences are stable and not affected by economic or social circumstances.”

This research has been peer-reviewed.
