Rep. Lujan Grisham Introduces Bill on Audits of Medical Loss Ratio Reports

WASHINGTON, March 20 -- Rep. Michelle Lujan Grisham, D-N.M., has introduced legislation (H.R. 1610) to amend title XXVII of the Public Health Service Act, and title XVIII of the Social Security Act, "to direct the Secretary of Health and Human Services to conduct audits of medical loss ratio reports submitted by health insurance issuers."
The bill was introduced on March 17 and was co-sponsored by Rep. John Conyers Jr., D-Mich. It was jointly referred to the House Energy and Commerce and Ways and Means committees.
