Rep. Ellison Statement on CBO Report on Republican Health Care Reform Bill
Targeted News Service (Press Releases)
WASHINGTON, March 14 -- Rep. Keith Ellison, D-Minn., issued the following statement after the Congressional Budget Office released their report showing that 24 million people will lose their coverage and premiums will rise for Seniors under the Republican health care reform bill:
"In 2015, Donald Trump said his health care reform plan would let people 'have their plans' and 'cover everything'. These claims have turned out to be false. The Congressional Budget Office report shows that Trump's plan with House Republicans will cause 24 million people, mostly vulnerable and low-income, to lose their health care and send costs skyrocketing for seniors. "The President's support of this bill leaves no doubt that he is just as bad as Congressional Republicans - harming millions of working Americans in order to pay for tax cuts for the rich.
"Now is the time for every Member of Congress to say where they stand. Now is the time for working people all over the country to let their voices be heard in opposition to this bill.
"Now is the time for Seniors and all Americans to say 'no' to these failed Republican policies."
