REJECTED: 60 Plus Association Launches Ad Campaign Asking Republicans: ‘Will Seniors Across Rural America Be Left Behind in Obamacare Repeal?’

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 23 -- The 60 Plus Association issued the following news release:

Today, the 60 Plus Association launched a campaign urging Republicans to protect seniors across rural America by restoring the funds that were cut from Medicare to pay for the Affordable Care Act (ACA) at the time of repeal with a full-cover wrap ad featured on the Washington Examiner.

"Access to healthcare for over 11 million patients in rural areas is at stake if funds spent from the Medicare program to pay for the Obamacare program are not restored at the time of repeal," said Jim Martin, chairman of The 60 Plus Association.

"As House Republicans prepare to introduce legislation to repeal the failing healthcare law in the upcoming weeks, our campaign intends to remind conservatives across America that we can and must honor our seniors for their decades of service to family and country. Republicans promised to do so during the campaign, and now's their chance to deliver on that promise by returning the Medicare funding to hospitals as they move forward with healthcare reform," concluded Martin.

The campaign includes digital ads linking to a recent op-ed authored by Martin and distribution of the Washington Examiner featuring the cover-wrap ad at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), the National Governors Association and Republican Governors Association winter meetings later this week. Copies will also be sent to House, Senate and White House executive offices in Washington D.C. and Statehouse offices across the country.

The back panel of the cover-wrap ad states: "Speaker Ryan stated that the Affordable Care Act (ACA) turned Medicare into a piggy bank for Obamacare. Today, our nation has an opportunity to fix that." Concluding: "Congress, Obamacare treated Medicare like a piggy bank. Repeal is the time to make it right!"

The 60 Plus Association is a 25-year-old nonpartisan organization working for death tax repeal, saving Social Security and Medicare, affordable prescription drugs, lowering energy costs and other issues featuring a less government, less taxes approach as well as a strict adherence to the Constitution. 60 Plus calls on support from over 7 million activists. 60 Plus has been called, "an increasingly influential senior citizen's group," and recognized as the alternative to the AARP.
