Progressive hiring 900 at Colorado Springs campus this year
Gazette, The (CO)
Progressive Corp. plans to hire 900 people at its Colorado Springs campus this year, the Ohio-based insurance giant announced Tuesday.
Progressive had Colorado Springs job openings Tuesday on its careers site (www.progressive.com/careers) for customer service and inbound sales representatives, software developers, data engineers, several types of system engineers, electricians and plant operators.
Full-time customer service and inbound sales jobs pay $15.50 to $17.50 an hour, with 10 percent to 15 percent added for evening and weekend shifts, performance awards and cash prizes in internal contests, and a bonus of up to 16 percent of annual salary, based on the company's financial performance.

The hires are part of a nationwide expansion that will add 7,500 employees in information technology, analysis, customer care and claims in Colorado Springs, Austin, Texas; Cleveland; Phoenix; Sacramento, Calif.; and Tampa, Fla., as well as hundreds who will work remotely from their homes.
The hiring plans "support the growing needs of its business," Progressive said in the release. The company reported last month that its premium revenue in December grew 23 percent from a year earlier to nearly $2 billion from more than 16 million policies in force, up 10 percent from December 2016.
Progressive is the nation's fourth-largest auto insurer.
