Perry trustees accept FEMA grant for COVID-19 assistance

KEY ACTION Agreed to accept a Federal Emergency Management Agency COVID-19 supplemental grant for the Fire Department. The grant total is $28,309.
The township has a 10% match in order to receive the grant.
OTHER ACTION Accepted the resignation of part-time firefighter Adam Silla, who had been with the Perry Fire Department for 21 years.
? Authorized the purchase of two, zero-turn lawn mowers for the Parks Department. Cost is not to exceed $23,690.
? Accepted a Drug Use Prevention Grant from the Ohio Attorney General's Office to benefit the Police Department. The Grant totals $20,564 and is to help fund the department's annual D.A.R.E. program.
? Accepted an Ohio Township Association Risk Management Authority distribution check totaling $11,001.43. The reimbursement was awarded due to a low insurance claim rate.
FOR YOUR INFO The township's yard waste drop-off site at the Road Department headquarters, 1500 Jackson Ave. SW, is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.
UP NEXT Meets at 6 p.m.Aug. 4 at the Township Administration Office, 3111 Hilton St. NW. The meeting will be streamed live on the Perry Township (Stark County) Facebook page.
