Pennsylvania Dems Issues Statement on Legislation to Repeal Affordable Care Act

HARRISBURG, Pa., March 22 -- The Pennsylvania Democratic Party issued the following statement by Chairman Marcel L. Groen ahead of the House's vote on the Republican's disastrous Affordable Care Act-repeal legislation:
"I implore the members of Pennsylvania's congressional delegation to vote against this disastrous attempt to replace the Affordable Care Act. This legislation is dead wrong for Pennsylvania. This bill would increase premiums across the board and charge an age tax on Pennsylvania's seniors. It would gut funding to Medicaid, which would rip care away from hundreds of thousands of Pennsylvanians, including over 125,000 people who have received treatment for a substance use disorder. This bill would have devastating effects on middle-class families, seniors, and children.
"Pennsylvania congressmen Kelly, Meehan, Costello, Murphy, and Smucker have already voted for this bill in committee -- they will have to answer for their votes. But it's not too late for them and for the remainder of the Republican delegation in Washington, D.C. They must put the people of Pennsylvania first and vote against this bill."
