Penn State Health and Humana Announce Medicare Network Agreement in South Central Pennsylvania

Provides In-Network Access to the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center For Humana Medicare Advantage Members

HERSHEY, Pa. & LOUISVILLE, Ky.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Penn State Health and Humana Inc. (NYSE: HUM), one of the nation’s leading health and well-being companies, have signed an agreement that provides in-network access for Humana Medicare Advantage members at Penn State Health facilities - including at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center – and with Penn State Health Medical Group physicians.

The agreement provides in-network access for Humana Medicare Advantage Health Maintenance Organization (HMO), Preferred Provider Organization (PPO), and Private Fee-for-Service (PFFS) health plan members seeking care at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, the region’s only university teaching and research hospital and the only medical facility in Pennsylvania to be accredited as both an adult and pediatric Level 1 trauma center; at Hershey Outpatient Surgery Center in Hershey; and at Hershey Endoscopy Center in State College.

The contract also offers in-network access to Penn State Health Medical Group, Penn State Health’s network of more than 1,100 primary care providers and specialists located across eight counties. This includes doctors of the former Physicians’ Alliance, Ltd. (PAL), which had been the largest independent physician practice group in Lancaster County prior to joining Penn State Health last year.

The agreement supplements existing in-network access for Humana Medicare Advantage members seeking care at Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center in Reading.
