Orchid Underwriters Announces Departure of Timothy Byrne, Sr.
Real Estate Weekly News
By a News Reporter-Staff News Editor at Real Estate Weekly News -- Orchid Underwriters Agency, LLC ("Orchid"), a leading specialty underwriter of catastrophic coastal insurance formally announced the departure of Timothy Byrne, Sr. Mr. Byrne most recently served as Orchid's Executive Vice President in charge of Regional Operations.
Mr. Byrne joined Orchid on May 1, 2015 when Orchid acquired Coastal Agents Alliance. Since that time, he has assisted in integrating the two operations and in developing common approaches to marketing and service that leveraged the strengths and relationships in both companies. More recently, he also led Orchid's expansion into admitted homeowners' products, an important area of growth as the agency continues to broaden the many options it provides to client producers.
Brad Emmons, said, "I would like to thank Tim for his efforts to help combine Orchid and CAA. Tim helped us identify and build upon the strengths in both organizations, including subtle differences by region and product offering. It was no accident that CAA was such a successful company, nor that Tim had developed such a talented and hard-working team."
Steven Carlsen, added, "Anyone who has worked with Tim knows his entrepreneurial spirit and passion for the business. We appreciate the nearly two-and-a-half years he gave us to figure out how to combine these two companies. On a personal note, I would particularly like to thank Tim for his advice and support as I transitioned into the role of Chairman just a few months ago. We will miss him."
Tim Byrne added, "This seemed like the right time for me to move on to the next chapter of my life and career. I've made many friends at Orchid and Gryphon Investors, and will miss working with them. But I also look forward to some new projects in this rapidly changing industry."
