Miller has been appointed head of Individual Policy Services, responsible for all life insurance and annuity services to policyholders. Mr. Miller is a senior vice president, reporting to Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer, Frank M. Boccio. </p> <p> As department head of Individual Policy Services (IPS), the company’s largest department, Mr. Miller is now responsible for overseeing all IPS operations, including more than 2,400 customer service professionals who underwrite and issue policies, process premiums, pay claims, disburse benefits, and design service strategies – all in support of New York Life’s more than four million customers. In these capacities, Mr. Miller is responsible for the company’s five regional service centers and its New York City-based service center. </p> <p> Mr. Miller joined New York Life in 2002 as a vice president and was promoted to first vice president in 2003, with responsibility for traditional product service, variable product service, and bank and broker annuity service. He was appointed senior vice president in 2005 when his responsibilities expanded to include the NYLIFE Securities service operation. Prior to joining New York Life, Mr. Miller was vice president and director of Mutual Fund Services for The Hartford Life Insurance Company. Before that, he was vice president of Advisory Services at Prudential Investments. Mr. Miller began his career at The Penn Mutual Life Insurance Company, where he was vice president of Pension and Annuity Services. </p> <p> Mr. Miller earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Widener University.
