Nimishillen Twp. joins Stark Council to save on health premiums

KEY ACTION Joined the Stark Council of Governments.
DISCUSSION A more than 40 percent increase in health insurance through Aultcare prompted Trustees to seek lower premiums. The COG plan is expected to save the Township $2,617 per month. Following a 32 minute executive session on the road department contract to take effect Aug.1, 2109 through July 31, 2022, Trustees agreed to a memorandum of understanding to update the insurance plan to the contract, as it was one of the negotiated items.
OTHER ACTION
• Agreed to retain the $50 conditional use permit fee for a business operating out of a residence.
• Authorized the fiscal officer to request weekly advances on the February and July real estate tax settlements.
• Learned that two of the three new fire department vehicles arrived this week and will be placed in service soon. The third is to be inspected soon, and be in service within weeks.
• Approved the financial, fire, road, and zoning reports, minutes of the organizational meeting and bills totaling $73,681.74.
