New York City Expands Use of PCIS Claims and Risk Management Software with ClaimsVISION for Workers’ Compensation

PR Web

LAS VEGAS (PRWEB) December 05, 2018

From the National Workers' Compensation & Disability Conference, P&C Insurance Systems, Inc. (PCIS), a proven and trusted provider of risk management information systems (RMIS), claims management software, and automated compliance solutions, today announced that the largest U.S. city, The City of New York (NYC), has signed a new contract expanding its relationship with PCIS' ClaimsVISION®. The system will be utilized by the city's Law Department to manage and oversee workers' compensation claims for more than 200,000 NYC employees across 42 city departments.

NYC's claims administration operation managed by the Law Department includes more than 100 users. To date, PCIS has transmitted more than 550,000 FROI SROI reports to New York State. NYC will expand upon this success by adopting the latest version of this module, ClaimsVISION's intelligent No Touch FROI SROI EDI as well as its CMS 111 Medicare Reporting.

"Piggybacking on NY Law's success and confidence with PCIS we continue to forge the way for Claims and Risk Management practices in the public sector with ClaimsVISION. NYC was the initial enrollee in PCIS' NY State EDI automation pilot program and a leader in the State of NY. It is with great pride that we continue the partnership with ClaimsVISION's, No Touch FROI SROI. E-Compliance, including CMS Medicare, our Financial Approval Hub, and the expanded Vision Legal module are the next innovations in compliance and litigation management", added Georgette Loizou, PCIS Executive Vice President.

ABOUT The New York City Law Department
New York City Law Department's approximately 730 lawyers and 690 support professionals work collaboratively to pursue justice while providing the City with the highest quality legal representation. The Law Department represents the City, the Mayor, other elected officials, and the City's many agencies in all affirmative and defensive civil litigation as well as juvenile delinquency proceedings brought in Family Court and Administrative Code enforcement proceedings brought in Criminal Court. The City is a self-insurer of its workers' compensation obligations pertaining to all covered City employees. Most City employees are covered for workers' compensation (with the exception of uniformed police officers, firefighters, and uniformed sanitation workers). Also included are non-pedagogical employees of the Department of Education and all employees of the Health and Hospitals Corporation and the City University. The City administers the claims of all covered employees who are injured on the job or incur an occupational disease. The City strives to provide employees with all the medical and wage replacement benefits to which they are entitled, while objecting to and, if necessary, litigating unwarranted claims.
