Nearly 2,000 Attend 37th IRMI Construction Risk Conference

INDIANAPOLIS, Nov. 11 -- The International Risk Management Institute issued the following news release:

Nearly 2,000 construction risk and insurance professionals convened in Indianapolis, Indiana, from November 5 to November 8 for the 37th IRMI Construction Risk Conference (CRC).

CRC began in 1982 with fewer than 150 insurance buyers. It has grown into the only national symposium devoted exclusively to managing, insuring, and bonding the risks of construction projects. This year's CRC featured 3 general sessions and over 30 sessions presented by more than 70 nationally recognized insurance, risk management, safety, and surety experts.

Contractors large and small sent their risk, insurance, and safety managers. In addition, virtually all of the major providers of insurance or surety services were represented, and a substantial number of risk managers representing project owners (i.e., companies with large construction projects planned or under way) attended.

"Contractors are dealing with unique risk management challenges stemming from the lack of qualified and well-trained workers, new construction technologies, and new competitors entering their markets," said International Risk Management Institute, Inc.
