Kostyantyn Kornivskyy of Weddington in Union County ended the year 2020 by claiming a $1 million prize he won instantly.
Kornivskyy bought his lucky $10,000,000 Colossal Cash scratch-off at the Market Express on Old Monroe Road in Matthews.
He claimed his prize Tuesday and had a choice of taking an annuity of $50,000 a year for 20 years or a lump sum payment. He chose the lump sum and after state and federal tax withholdings took home $388,500.
