Molina Healthcare of Texas Hosts Maternal Mental Health Events for Moms in El Paso and Hargill

EL PASO AND HARGILL, Tex., May 17, 2024 -Molina Healthcare of Texas ("Molina") recently hosted two community events, providing tips and resources on how moms can take care of their mental health.

In El Paso, Molina hosted Mindful Motherhood: Nurturing Maternal Mental Health, a free event held at the Las Palmas Del Sol Women's Resource Center. Moms who attended were treated to information on prenatal and postpartum care, as well as free diapers, wipes and baby rash cream.

In Hargill, Molina, in partnership with ARISE Adelante Hargill, hosted a Moms Club event in which attendees were able to participate in a special craft activity and receive valuable information on mental health geared toward moms and their families. Brunch was also provided.

These events, which took place in May, Mental Health Awareness Month, aimed to raise awareness on maternal mental health. A study found that maternal mental health conditions such as depression and anxiety disorders affect 13.2% of Texas mothers.
