Molina Healthcare of New Mexico to Partner with Rhino Health LLC to Provide Services for its Members and for the Planned Navajo Nation Indian Managed Care Entity (IMCE)

Business Wire

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Molina Healthcare of New Mexico today announced that it has signed a letter of intent with Rhino Health LLC, its preferred durable medical equipment vendor, to provide nitrile gloves to its members. In addition, Molina intends to partner with Rhino Health for the Navajo IMCE program that is envisioned to launch in the first half of 2020.

Once approved, the IMCE would represent the United States’ first-ever Medicaid managed care program dedicated solely to the health care, cultural, and geographical needs of American Indians and Alaskan Natives living in the Navajo Nation. It will be administered by the Navajo Nation’s Naat’aanii Development Corporation (NDC) and Molina and would offer eligible Navajos a culturally competent Medicaid managed care program compliant with the rules and regulations of both the federal Medicaid program and the New Mexico Centennial Care program. Molina, as a subcontractor to NDC, will provide to members all necessary managed care services.

“This agreement aligns with our strategy of becoming a primary supplier of nitrile to government agencies, and medical facilities,” said Mark Lee, chief executive officer of Rhino Health. “It is a win for the company and this new business will enable us to make further progress in our goal of creating approximately 350 jobs in the region.”

“We are pleased to partner with Rhino Health for this important new program targeted at improving health care access and outcomes for Navajos,” said Carolyn Ingram, executive vice president of policy and government affairs at Molina Healthcare. “Rhino Health delivers an excellent product at a great price and we believe there is an opportunity to expand this relationship to cover all Molina health care programs in the near future and bring jobs to the Navajo People. We also look forward to working with President Nez, Speaker Damon, and the Tribal Council as they continue to expand employment and opportunity in the Navajo Nation.”
