Lincoln Financial Launches Market Select Advantage

RADNOR, PA, October 15, 2015 – Lincoln Financial Group (LNC) today introduced its new Market Select^SM Advantage optional living benefit rider for its variable annuity solutions, providing retirement savers with guaranteed lifetime income, along with flexibility through access to a broadly diversified lineup of investment options managed by leading investment managers.

Lincoln Market Select Advantage joins Lincoln’s suite of retirement solutions as a value-added option that fits between its investment-only variable annuity solution, which is aimed at providing tax-efficiency during the accumulation phase, and Lincoln’s industry-leading guaranteed income solutions, including i4LIFE^® Advantage, which helps advisors and clients maximize income potential in retirement.

With Lincoln Market Select Advantage, investors can participate in the market with the knowledge that if they are 65 years old and wait at least five years from the purchase date to start receiving income, they will receive a guaranteed five percent lifetime income stream. If the account value grows from year to year, then the income base will automatically step up to equal a higher account value on an annual basis.

This method maximizes income potential and provides a tax advantage for non-qualified annuities, with each payment returning a portion of the nontaxable principal along with a portion of the earnings, or taxable gains.
