Liberty Pioneers New Business Development Role Focused on Claims

LONDON, England, June 1 -- Liberty Specialty Markets, a specialty and commercial insurance and reinsurance provider, which is a part of Liberty Mutual Insurance Group, issued the following news release:
Liberty Specialty Markets (LSM), part of Liberty Mutual Insurance Group, has promoted Andrew Pedler to the newly created role of Claims Manager - Client Relationships.
The role, a first for LSM and rare within London market businesses, leverages LSM's strong reputation for claims service in a business development context. Andrew will work closely with LSM's claims and placing brokers to promote LSM's claims service as an integral part of the business's offering to the market.
He reports to both Head of Claims Mike Gillett and Head of Business Development Mark Stephenson.
Mark Stephenson said: "We've created this role to ensure brokers understand both sides of our offering - underwriting and claims - especially as we have a market-beating track record in claims handling, combined with a unique perspective on the discipline.
"Andrew's knowledge of claims combined with his communication skills will allow him to forge deep and productive relationships with our broker partners."
A senior claims specialist with LSM since 2012, Andrew takes up his new role with immediate effect, based in LSM's London headquarters.
With over ten years' experience in the insurance market, Andrew began his career in 2007 as an insurance technician and an associate claims adjuster with Xchanging. He is ACII qualified and a founding member of the LMA/LIIBA under-35 claims group.
