Kura MD and TriageNow to Market Integrated Telehealth Solution for Comprehensive Employee Health Management

Business Wire

Platform combines MD telehealth and telephonic nurse call networks for health care management from minor injuries to Workers’ Comp claims

ROSEVILLE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Kura MD, a leading developer of the next generation of telehealth, today announced it is aligning services with time of injury nurse call center provider, TriageNow, to integrate their solutions for comprehensive employee health management.

Employers face rising healthcare insurance expenses for their employees that can be impacted by inefficient utilization of healthcare resources when an employee seeks medical care. More than 70% of employee injury claims do not require clinical intervention and yet consume $42 billion in benefit claims annually. Unfortunately without an orchestrated employee triage and care model, overutilization of health services regularly occurs causing delays in employee health care and excess expenses which ultimately translate to higher healthcare costs for employers.

Kura MD markets a comprehensive telehealth service to employers comprising a network of board-certified emergency physicians trained in occupational medicine who provide telehealth-based care to employees through the secure web-based Kura MD platform as a “company’s doctor”. For Workers’ Compensation injury cases, Kura MD with its sister company Arissa Cost Strategies, provides the managed care services to fully process a claim including automated Utilization Review, integration with Bill Review and Claim Platforms and management of all reporting and documentation to provide a total cost containment solution.

This turnkey employer-based telehealth platform saves employers time and expense by providing employees with immediate access to care, avoiding costly delays and unnecessary emergency room and urgent care visits. When necessary, employees are directed to appropriate level of care. Most cases can be resolved during the encounter without the employee leaving work.

TriageNow is a leading provider of 24/7 telephonic nurse triage combining a network of highly trained nurses with an advanced technology platform to reduce the number of First Aid claims and medical costs associated with minor workplace injuries. When the military field-based triage protocols indicate a physician consultation is needed for injury or illness, a physician within the Kura MD network is activated to treat the employee and provide an ongoing treatment plan or refer to next level of care. TriageNow’s system can integrate with an employer’s HR system to capture employee demographics and employment verification enabling triage assessments in less than 15 minutes.

The integrated Kura MD and TriageNow solution brings together 24/7 telephone nurse triage with telehealth access to physicians to handle employee healthcare needs for both illness and occupational injury. Both companies will continue to market their platforms as independent targeted solutions in addition to being available as a combined solution.

Kura MD and TriageNow will be exhibiting together at the National Workers’ Compensation and Disability Conference® in Las Vegas from November 11-13 in exhibit booth #553.
