Humana seeks 90 phone sales workers for Medicare enrollment

May 14--Health insurer Humana is seeking to hire about 90 South Florida residents to work as phone sales representatives.

The "telesales specialist" positions would be based at Humana's Direct Marketing Services center at 3401 SW 160th Ave., Miramar, according to a news release.

"Employees will provide national phone sales and enrollment assistance for the company's Medicare benefit plans and specialty products," the release stated. "These positions will also directly handle inquiries and provide guidance to help new and existing Humana Medicare Advantage members nationwide find benefit solutions to meet their needs."

The positions are being created to meet demand expected during the annual Medicare open enrollment period, running Oct. 15 through Dec. 7. New hires are sought to start immediately, between May 14 and July 9, the release said.

Candidates should have a high school or general equivalency diploma (GED) and be able to work any shift between 7 a.m and 11 p.m., including weekends. Bilingual candidates and licensed candidates "are strongly urged to apply," the release said.

"Humana offers competitive salaries and benefits and will pay for telesales associates to obtain their health insurance license, and for in-depth certification and sales training," the release said.
