Fla. Chief Financial Officer Jimmy Patronis: Florida Firefighters to Provide Vital Support in COVID-19 Antibody Testing

TALLAHASSEE, Florida, April 30 -- Florida Chief Financial Officer Jimmy Patronis issued the following news release:
Florida Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and State Fire Marshal Jimmy Patronis held a call with the Executive Boards of the Florida Fire Chiefs Association and the Florida Professional Firefighters to receive updates on COVID-19 response efforts from first responders statewide.
During the call, the fire service community's support of local antibody testing sites as well as the need for priority antibody tests for first responders was discussed.
CFO and State Fire Marshal Jimmy Patronis said, "As we look to ramp up COVID-19 antibody testing throughout the state, our dedicated firefighters and paramedics are prepared to support these testing sites to aid in giving Floridians easy access to this vital resource.
We must also ensure that our first responders are provided priority antibody testing so that our fire service community can properly scale response efforts and adjust staffing where appropriate. These heroes continue to be the boots on the ground in the COVID-19 recovery efforts and I cannot thank them enough for their service."
