Fairfield man faces weapons, other charges after Norwalk crash
Police were notified by a passerby to a single-car crash around
The air bags were deployed and the driver, identified as Abbruzzese, was standing outside the vehicle.
The witness said the car was traveling fast. The impact damaged the utility pole. Paramedics were called to the scene.
Because the SUV was filled with a large amount of clothing and construction equipment, police conducted an inventory of the vehicle.
That inventory search yielded a .22 caliber pistol, a high-capacity gun magazine, a pellet rifle, a bayonet, machete, a Ghurka knife, camping equipment, a gas mask, metal fighting chains, and military surplus items.

Abbruzzese was informed that he was under arrest while at the hospital. He was brought to headquarters several hours later for processing. His bond was set at
