SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Hoge Fenton, a leading Northern California law firm, today announced that experienced estate planning attorney Karen A. Meckstroth joined the firm as Of Counsel.

Meckstroth is a Certified Specialist in Estate Planning, Trust & Probate Law as certified by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization, a distinction held by only 1 percent of California’s active attorneys.

Meckstroth was most recently in private practice in Saratoga. She was previously with the Hopkins & Carley firm in San Jose. Her practice focuses on estate planning, charitable planning, business succession planning, trust administration and probate. She creates uniquely personalized estate plans, from basic to advanced and highly complex, incorporating both tax and nontax ramifications, while also taking into account her clients’ personal values and family dynamics.

Meckstroth’s services range from basic estate planning to wealth preservation through gifts of partial interests, grantor retained annuity trusts, defective grantor trusts, providing for philanthropy in family wealth planning and other sophisticated techniques. Meckstroth is admitted to practice in the United States Tax Court.
