Delta Dental Plans Association hires Tim Steffl as vice president, strategic development & finance

PR Newswire

OAK BROOK, Ill., Dec. 3, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Delta Dental Plans Association (DDPA) announces Tim Steffl has joined the organization as vice president, strategic development & finance, effective November 5, 2018. With 30 years of health care management, strategy, finance and sales experience, Steffl will be responsible for providing the oversight and leadership for DDPA's strategic development and finance and accounting operations. DDPA is the not-for-profit national association of the 39 independent Delta Dental companies. Through these companies, Delta Dental is the nation's largest provider of dental insurance, covering more than 78 million Americans.

Tim Steffl joins Delta Dental Plans Association as vice president, strategic development & finance.

Steffl will be based in DDPA's headquarters in Oak Brook, Illinois, and will report to Steven R. Olson, DDPA president and CEO.

"As Delta Dental continues to address opportunities and challenges in the dynamic dental insurance landscape nationwide, Tim's notable experience in diverse health care management and startups will be a fresh advantage to our system," Olson said. "Tim has an engaging, creative leadership style that will complement Delta Dental's culture. I look forward to working with him and leveraging his considerable experience."

Most recently, Steffl was president of Pivot Health Advisors, where he led the health care consulting firm in product innovation and commercialization for hospitals and evolving organizations. His career also includes 16 years with the American Hospital Association (AHA) in Chicago, where he was most recently the chief operating and development officer for AHA Solutions, Inc./Health Forums. He successfully built and ran three separate businesses for the AHA.

Steffl's three-decade career also encompasses his role as vice president for Professional Healthcare Consultants, a specialty strategic consulting firm focused on physician practice-related engagements. In addition, he was founder and president of central Missouri's first physician-hospital organization and independent physician association. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a specialization in finance from The Ohio State University.

"I'm eager to immerse myself in my new role at Delta Dental, apply my wide-ranging experience with established companies and startups, and collaborate with various internal and external teams, as we work together to expand access to oral health care in America," Steffl said.
