Since 1951, North Cascade Insurance has been dedicated to serving the insurance needs of Anacortes and surrounding areas. Founded by Scott "O" Richards, the business transitioned smoothly under Mike Keller in the early 1980s, who continued Richards' legacy until 2012. Scot Buchanan and Shellie Eubanks-Highet, both Skagit Valley natives, acquired the agency in 2012, fostering its growth and relocating to 12th street. In 2023, Scot, Shellie, and co-owner Michelle Axelson merged their Mount Vernon agency (Smiley Insurance) with the original Scott Richards operation in Anacortes, forming North Cascade Insurance. This strategic move included a partnership with the Leavitt Group, enhancing their reach in insurance markets to better serve clients' ongoing needs.

North Cascade insurance helps its clients purchase property and casualty insurance, including home, auto, boat, recreational vehicle, and business and life insurance.With 14 staffmembers working between their Mount Vernon and Anacortes locations,North Cascade Insurance is well-prepared to meet the personal, business, and marine insurance needs of their clients throughout the PacificNorthwest.
