Congressman Poliquin Puts the Rich, and Drug and Insurance Companies, Ahead of Constituents

AUGUSTA, Maine, May 5 -- The Maine Democratic Party issued the following news release:
Today, Congressman Bruce Poliquin voted to take health care away from thousands of Mainers. Rep. Poliquin did not take a public stance on TrumpCare until hours before the vote. At 3:30 P.M. today, there will be a Press Conference in response at the State House in Augusta with Maine Democratic legislators including Sen. Shenna Bellows, Sen. Geoffrey Gratwick, and others, along with local activists.
Maine Democratic Party Chair Phil Bartlett said, "Rep. Poliquin just voted to take health care away from millions of Americans and raise premiums on older Mainers. Poliquin ignored countless pleas from his constituents to vote against this ill-conceived disaster of a bill, all to give a $600 billion tax cut to the rich, and drug and insurance companies.
"Rep. Poliquin can't avoid being held accountable for this bad vote by cowering in a bathroom hiding from reporters, or refusing to face his constituents. The voters will hold him accountable in 2018, and the Maine Democratic Party will be there with the bold leader that CD 2 deserves in Congress."
