The junior cadets will investigate mock crime scenes, collect evidence, tour the sheriff's office and county jail, obtain Stop the Bleed training and will get hands-on experience with advanced tactical equipment and self-defense techniques.
Each session is limited to 25 students, and applications will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis. There is no cost for the program, but students will need to bring their lunch each day.

The program aims to provide individuals who are just beginning or considering an entrepreneurial enterprise a supportive and nurturing environment where they can thoroughly evaluate their respective business models.
The four-session course, each lasting two-and-a-half hours, will include small group discussions that are focused on strengthening the participants' business models. Classes will be in September.

Learn to attract butterflies
A program on attracting butterflies to a garden, part of the Water Wise Landscape Series, will begin at
Attendees will learn tips to create a butterfly habitat in a personal landscape by introducing a water source and feeders, as well as how to select the right plants as host species for caterpillars. Other topics will include native and adapted flowers that provide long-lasting blooms with nectar sources for butterflies.
