LONDON, England, May 15 -- The British Insurance Brokers' Association issued the following news release:
The British Insurance Brokers' Association (BIBA) has named Ian Crowder as the winner of its 2019 Francis Perkins Award.
Francis Perkins, the first chairman of BIBA, instigated the award to give recognition to members of the association who give their time and energy to promote the causes of the insurance broking sector.
The judges chose Ian because of his commitment, courtesy, collaboration and indeed kindness which has been extemporary. He has been an enthusiastic advocate of BIBA and insurance broking and is a very worthy winner of the prestigious award.
Recently retired, Ian was with AA Insurance for 15 years and he worked particularly closely with BIBA on government campaigning issues. He was nominated and short-listed for the AA Courtesy Award 2018 and shortlisted in the CIPR Awards 2018 for 'best in-house communications team'.
BIBA Chair, Lord Hunt of Wirral, announced the award at BIBA's annual conference in Manchester.
He said: "In so many ways, Ian has become the authentic, authoritative and indispensable voice of insurance broking. What I particularly admire is that he has never shied away from publicly tackling all and any questions, however knotty, complex or obscure, in his mission to enhance consumer understanding of our sector. I know how much my colleagues at BIBA have enjoyed working with him on both campaigns and committees, so I was really delighted to present the Francis Perkins Award 2019 to him."
