Oct. 30--The Victoria Fire Academy is now recruiting for its 2019 class.
The $3,500, 20-week training class begins Jan. 18 and ends June 12, according to a news release.
Students will take classes that include Firefighter I and II, Hazardous Materials Awareness and Hazardous Materials Operations.
Prospective students must be 18 or older. Basic EMT certification or higher is preferred.
Graduates of the academy will be eligible for Basic Firefighter Certification from the Texas Commission on Fire Protection.
Applications will be accepted through Dec. 12 and are available online.
