BRIEF: ICYMI: Affordable Care Act enrollment deadline is Tuesday
Herald-Times (Bloomington, IN)
Jan. 30--County health officials are reminding residents that the enrollment deadline for the Affordable Care Act is nearing.
The deadline to enroll for health coverage through the Health Insurance Marketplace is Tuesday.
"Though talk about repeal may be confusing, as of now nothing has changed, and anyone who enrolls by January 31 will be able to use their coverage starting March 1," County Health Administrator Penny Caudill said in a press release. "Cost can be a real concern for people here in Monroe County, but what many people don't realize is that financial assistance is available to help lower the cost of plans."
Caudill said there are people across the state trained to assist residents with enrolling and applying for financial assistance as well. Those with questions can visit www.getcoveredamerica.org/connector to schedule an in-person appointment with someone who can help in the community.
