BRIEF: Gold Coast Health Plan moves to help evacuees
Ventura County Star (CA)
Dec. 06--Gold Coast Health Plan has lifted restrictions on prescription refills in a move designed to help fire evacuees who left their medications behind.
More than 27,000 people have evacuated their homes during the ongoing Thomas Fire. Gold Coast administers Medi-Cal health insurance to about 200,000 Ventura County residents.
Plan officials say they're also trying to help people who left oxygen tanks behind when they were evacuated. Those people can call 888-301-1228.
People with prescription refill needs can call OptumRx at 855-297-2870.
Gold Coast members who need transportation assistance can call Ventura Transit System at 855-628-7433.
