Bob Coleman to run for third term on the Glynn County Board of Commissioners

Oct. 19--Glynn County Commissioner Bob Coleman says he plans to to run for a third term of office in the At Large Post 2 seat in 2016.

Terms are for four years.

He was first elected to the commission in 2008 and was re-elected with 58 percent of the vote in a three-way primary contest in July 2012.

He was unopposed in the general election that same year.

Coleman served as vice chairman of the commission in 2014.

During his time on the commission, he has served on the finance, pension and personnel committees. He also served on the Board of Health Committee, the Community Development Advisory Board and on the Gateway Behavioral Health Board.

He served four years as the Glynn County Commission representative on the Brunswick-Glynn County Joint Water and Sewer Commission.

Coleman is the owner-operator of the Coleman Insurance Agency Inc., where he has been in the insurance business in Brunswick since 1970.

He has served on the Belle Point Homeowner's Association Board for eight years and served as its president from 2005 to 2006.

Coleman is an avid golfer and boater and formerly served on the board of the Brunswick Country Club. He is a member of Norwich Street Baptist Church.

He and wife Sherry have three adult daughters.

"My background and experience uniquely qualify me to actively participate in the planning and implementation of board initiatives to ensure that the Glynn County Board of Commissioners is open, honest and efficient," Coleman said. "Most importantly, I have the energy, the drive, the passion and the will to follow through to make the necessary changes a reality."
