ALBANY, N.Y. — New York State Assemblyman Scott Bendett (R, C-Sand Lake) has been named to the Assembly Committees on Small Business, Insurance, Aging, and Labor for the 2023 Legislative Session. As a small business owner for over 25 years, CEO of his own real estate development corporation, and a former county legislator, Bendett noted that he is committed to supporting local communities by lowering the tax burden and keeping money in the pockets of hard-working New Yorkers.
"I am beyond excited to lend my years of practical experience in serving on these committees," Bendett said in a news release.
"I have always advocated for small business owners and those in need, and now more than ever, they need a strong voice in the political arena to fight for their future. New Yorkers are struggling as inflation skyrockets, workers face the threat of unemployment or inconsistent wage growth to meet the rising cost of living and the elderly have an uncertain future in understaffed care facilities and retirement. The work ahead is plentiful but I'm hopeful my background will help strengthen our proposals to help New Yorkers who need the help most," Bendett added.
Bendett represents the 107th Assembly District, encompassing parts of Columbia, Rensselaer, and Washington counties, as well as the town of Bethlehem in Albany County.
