As the cold weather returns, here’s where to get your flu shot this weekend
Morning Call (Allentown, PA)
Nov. 03--There are so many places to get flu shots in the Lehigh Valley that there is little excuse not to get one. With insurance, it's always free, and even for those without insurance, there are health bureaus and clinics offering free shots.
Several large chains that have pharmacies offer flu shots, free for the insured and with a small fee for the uninsured.
Here's a list of places to go get your vaccination this weekend:
* Lehigh Valley Health Network's annual drive-thru flu shot clinics: 9 a.m.-3 p.m.Nov. 4 at Dorney Park; Nov. 5 at Coca-Cola Park, free of charge for all. Come with the right forms filled out, founded at lvhn.org/flushot.
* Your primary care doctor. Flu shots must be free for the insured under the Affordable Care Act (which, yes, is still in effect).
* Allentown Health Bureau on 6th Street. Free for uninsured City of Allentown residents, by appointment only.
* CVS Pharmacy. Shots are free with most insurance, and through March 31, 2018, you get a $5 off $25 coupon for getting vaccinated.
* Rite Aid. Free with most insurance.
* Walgreens. Free with most insurance.
* Kmart Pharmacy. Free with most insurance.
* Giant Pharmacy. Free with most insurance.
* Weis Pharmacy. Free with most insurance.
* Walmart. Free with most insurance.
