APCIA Files Comments In Response to Texas Medical Audit Plan

CHICAGO, Illinois, Nov. 17 (TNStalk) -- The American Property Casualty Insurance Association issued the following agency statement on Nov. 16, 2022:

APCIA today filed written comments with the Texas Division of Workers' Compensation in response to the Medical Quality Review Panel's proposed medical audit plan for 2023.
APCIA stated it generally supports the proposed audit of health care providers' decision making and recordkeeping regarding the prescribing of gabapentin with opioids.
APCIA also stated it looked forward to the full development of the audit with the specificities of the evaluation process for the gabapentin prescriptions and better definitions of the scope of the audit.
