Amerigroup Teams Up with IntegraNet Health to Offer Medicare Advantage Plans

Business Wire

Collaboration will give consumers healthcare services through provider with proven long-term history of delivering quality care

HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Amerigroup announced it will expand on its commitment to providing Medicare-eligible consumers high-quality, affordable healthcare through a collaboration with IntegraNet Health (IntegraNet). The joint effort will be through Amerigroup’s 2019 Medicare Advantage health insurance plan named Amerivantage Diabetes (HMO SNP), Amerivantage Heart (HMO SNP), and Amerivantage COPD (HMO SNP) – special needs plans (SNPs) specifically designed for individuals with chronic diseases.

“Amerigroup strives to develop meaningful services and solutions that help consumers improve their health and well-being,” said Ken Satrom, President of Amerigroup Texas Medicare. “We are excited to expand our collaboration with IntegraNet and offer individuals in Texas a Medicare Advantage plan that delivers the high-quality care they expect from Amerigroup. This collaboration will also give consumers increased access to care providers and medical specialties that will make it easier for them to receive the care they need in their community.”

Amerivantage Diabetes (HMO SNP), Amerivantage Heart (HMO SNP), and Amerivantage COPD (HMO SNP) offer similar coverage as standard Medicare Advantage plans – such as HMOs – but also have benefits, care provider networks, and medication formularies tailored to the needs of individuals with diabetes, cardiovascular disease, or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, respectively. These SNPs aim to help individuals with chronic conditions better manage their disease in order to lead healthier lives and avoid potentially deadly complications.

IntegraNet is one of the largest and most experienced independent physician associations in Texas with more than 1,600 primary care and specialty physician practices. IntegraNet aims to provide innovative healthcare services that respond to the dynamic needs of the people their care providers serve. IntegraNet provides services throughout various regions of the state, including Harris, Dallas, and Tarrant Counties.

IntegraNet Health CEO, Larry Wedekind, stated that “we have been very pleased with our first three years of innovative collaboration with Amerigroup and we are looking forward to this new phase of coordinating and managing care for the thousands of Medicare-eligible consumers in need of more specialized care in the areas of diabetes, heart disease, and COPD. These new Amerivantage 2019 Medicare Advantage plans being offered in Harris County are specifically designed to improve the health of Medicare consumers in need of these special healthcare benefits. IntegraNet Health Primary Care Providers in Harris County will be the exclusive providers for these new healthcare benefits starting next year.”
