Amerigroup Rebrands Medicaid Health Plan to Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield

Rebranding demonstrates commitment to enhance health care delivery for Medicaid members in Nevada

LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Amerigroup, a leading Medicaid managed care plan in Nevada, is formally being introduced to members, providers and stakeholders across the state, as Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield. The rebranding was announced in December of 2017 and extends the strength and stability of the Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield Commercial brand, which has been serving state residents for nearly 50 years, to approximately 185,000 Medicaid members.

Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield Medicaid members will receive the same health plans benefits and services. Provider networks will remain the same, and Medicaid members can continue to see their current healthcare providers. All prior approvals and referrals are still valid, and the dedicated teams who serve members and providers are still in place.

Medicaid members and network providers were notified beginning December of 2017 about Amerigroup Nevada becoming Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield. All current Medicaid health plan members should have received and started using their new Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield ID cards, which include the Blue Cross and Blue Shield logo. In addition, a new Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield website has been launched at www.anthem.com/nvmedicaid as well as a new customer services number, which is 1-844-396-2329 (TTY 711) and is printed on members’ ID cards. Current Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield Medicaid members who have questions can call the member services number or contact member services via email at [email protected].
